Network control specialist
Individual contributor responsible for owning and managing all day to day monitoring, maintenance, administration, and performance management of IP Network and mobility technologies (3G, LTE, DAS) This person manages the uptime and availability of platforms, elements and services. Works as part of a 24X7 staff to deliver Tier 1 network technical support and follow escalation procedures. Also responsible for customer support for pre-paid and Wi-Fi products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage WMS network elements using various computer-based tools (Solarwinds, Alarm System, Performance Management Systems, Ticket System, etc.)
- Apply critical thinking skills to gather and assess relevant information to interpret data in order to independently find solutions.
- Apply analytical skills to articulate, analyze, solve complex problems, and make decisions regarding telecommunication and IP network faults
- Multi-task and prioritize daily responsibility of alarm, ticket and customer management
- Exceed customer expectations with every customer interaction by email, phone or chat.Identification of root causes, severity levels, workarounds, testing requirements and implementation of fixes to restore network.
- Serve as a single point of contact to WMS internal and external customers for outages and service impacting events
- Work with satellite providers to resolve causes of satellite or connectivity interruptions
- Work with network nodes such as Radios (BTS), routers, switches, distributed antenna systems, Linux devices, etc.
- Ability to clearly communicate and share knowledge on a daily basis as well as write professional documentation for methods of procedures.
- Analyze KPI and deliver shift reports
- Complete management and customer deliverables by deadlines
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
- This position reports to the Network Management Center director
- Frequent interaction with WMS staff, engineers, Satellite Vendors, Cruise Lines, crew and shore side customers
PHYSICAL/SENSORY/FLEXIBILITY DEMANDS (proven ability desired):
- Will be scheduled to work holidays
- Position is 4 days on, 3 off.
- Will work minimum 8 out of 12 months on (3rd) night shift (8PM to 7AM)
- Must be flexible:
- Shifts can change based at any time based on work demands / business needs (mid-week, month or future released months)
- Shift will rotate every 4 to 8 weeks and will not rotate in a particular order
- Fast multi-tasking ability required
- Touch typing skills required
- Ability to handle fast paced, high intensity environment
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electronics, telecommunications, network management, computer science and/or equivalent job experience (4-5 yrs.)
- Between 1 to 5 years work experience
- CCNA or Telecom equipment vendor certificates (desired) DESIRED SKILLS
- Experience with Cisco Networking, including routing, routing protocols, QoS (parameters like Packet loss, Latency, Jitter), TCP / IP and the ability to troubleshoot IP Transport Network · Knowledge of system topology, interface parameters and protocols for UMTS and/or LTE
- Worked with network equipment from telecommunication vendor (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei), using their knowledge library and man-machine language to manage nodes (ideally radios) from a console.
- Experience with troubleshooting distributed antenna systems (path loss, RF, cabling, etc.)
- Knowledge of Wireless Access Points and Controllers · Knowledge of VSAT satellite transmission systems (bandwidth, SCPC, blockage, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, time management and data analysis skills (telecommunication or IP KPIs)
