Customers roaming on our cruise ships and ferries will see a distinct name on the handset other than their home carrier. One your ship is at sea, your handsets will read “Nor 18”, “cellular@sea” or “901 18”. The display show varies depending on the type of phone you have. Your home carrier (and not WMS) will bill directly you directly for using cellular services onboard your ship.
Roaming Experience – How Call Processing Works
WMS uses Syniverse to clear roaming records for customers. For GSM providers we clear TAP records under the BMU01 PMN. For CDMA we use standard CIBER clearing processes. WMS is fully BARG and GSMA compliant, thereby simplifying billing and customer care. WMS ensures that the clearing of roaming activity takes place on an hourly basis.
